    Diff Axle Splines

Hi, When the splines on the axle are twisted is it because the diff is stronger than the axle or the axle is soft and weak?

    Thanks

No it means you were lucky and or unlucky
D2 Axles are not known for there weakness but the diffs that is a whole different story .
If you have lockers replace the axles if you don`t your diffs will follow very closely

    There is your answer
The axles and CV`S are now the fuse
Replace them with stronger stuff and your fuse has been transferred elsewhere

No the T/C are very strong and are not a weak point

My guess is the C/W Pinion is the next weakest link

reminds me of my RRC which had the 10 spline setup.
Did both diffs and one rear half shaft was similarly rooted

I was happy to have a rotoflex (and carry a spare) thought itd be the weakest point being rubber, turns out it was the cross-pin in centre. I assume once you've fixed centre, c&p and axles rotoflex or uni joints would be next
