Yeah oil cooler cap/bung I'd removed the matrix a while ago along with the EGR cooler.
Might have dodged a bullet and caught it in time?? I did see it go into alarm (and yes I should of had a low coolant alarm, just hadn't time to install!!)
NRMA sent a tech out even after I'd told them I'd need a tow truck!! but to there credit wasn't long and was taken to Mittagong NRMA depot.
Lucky for us the Repco just around the corner had a cap!! And all replaced filled and bled and quick lap around the block and check all good!!
Check level regularly on the remaining trip to Newcastle and level stayed same and drove as normal.

    Now should I be worried??
    Head gasket??
Or just keep driving and hope for the best??

I’ve never been a fan of those blanking caps I would rather use a short piece of hose with a stainless slug in the end.

    Keep driving.

I blew the plastic tank on the heater on the Tdi years ago climbing a range.
I just got out of the noise, coasted the couple of km down the other side and into town to my sisters place where i topped it off and found what had ruptured.
Swung the heater hose around to bridge out the heater core, bled the system and it was another two or three years before the head gasket went, and it didn't go through a gallery but straight out the back of #4.
