Pretty sure at idle, even at operating temp, it goes into open loop.....

I found that after replacing an O2 sensor, nothing improved until I did the adaptive reset. Then idle changed immediately and has run beautifully since.

    Discovery 2 V8 2001 - Engine Running Issues

Just an update on my Disco 2 V8.

I've replaced the MAF sensor now as well as the 2 x O2 sensors - Reset error codes and Bingo shes running beautifully again.

The Lamda is ramping up and down a bit, the long term fuel trim has dropped from around 22% on both banks down to around 1% (I believe that the system registers an error code when the LTFT hits 25%) . So my car was just below this and hence I got no error code. It just ran terribly.

I've yet to take it for a decent drive to see what my fuel economy will do. However at 22 l/100 kM around Canberra (pre fixes) it probably cant get much worst!!

    Regards

Jeez! I thought mine was battling at 18/100km (31” tyres, full touring load, rack, bar etc).

Anyway, glad it’s sorted. Keep us updatedDiscovery 2 V8 2001 - Engine Running Issues
