    D2 7 seater - retrofit 1 rear storage bin?

I’ve been granted permission to permanently remove 1 of my rear seats in favour of an AGM battery. Is it possible to retrofit 1 storage bin so I can use it to hide the battery?

Just playing with ideas ATM. Also thinking of making up an aluminium checker plate or a marine carpeted wooden one to match my draw system.

Not sure John. Throwing another option at you I made a base out of black form ply and angle alloy and used a black battery box from a marine Chandler to do mine. Looks neat and all wires are hidden inside box. Cradle is bolted into where the 3rd row seat bolts would go.

I hadn’t thought of that. Thanks. Good idea. Did you find the 2 side bolts (where the seat bolts in) was enough or did you have to put in a floor bolt for extra mounting?

Hi mate. 2 high tensile through side where seat would go and one through floor (new hole). See page 137 of What did you do in your Discovery 2 Today thread for pics of mine.

What happened to your Discovery 2 today?

    Cheers

I too own a seven seater and replaced the rear driver's side seat with a bin I bought on Ebay It bolts straight in.

I have a 03 D2a HSE which is seven seater. It also has rear air conditioning, as such it is not possible to remove the passenger side boot seat as it sticks out further into the boot due to the rear AC unit. I did however remove the drivers side and swap it with a rear storage bin setup from a five seater, was fairly straight forward to do so.

I removed both rear seats as I have the main rear seats.
