    Tie rod end

Does this look normal to have an "extension piece" on the passenger side tie rod end? I need to replace it as it's gone dry inside and squeaking. ( i gave it a squirt with inox to keep it happy till i replace it).

That adjustment is to level the cross bar on your steering wheel, if you are changing the rod end yourself count the turns you unscrew it and fit the new end the same amount of turns, then take spanners with you on the road test to adjust the cross bar if necessary.
The wheel alignment won’t be effected as that’s set on the tie rod behind the diff.

Before I had a Land Rover I did not have any torque wrenches. Now I have three.
