Any tips or tricks for accessing the automatic transmission controller ECU on my D2a Td5? I just want to eyeball it to read the part number from it.
I've read that it's below the front passenger seat. I put the seat fully forward and up to take a look and this is what I saw:

Being an HSE, the Harmon Kardon sound system amplifier is there along with some AV stuff for the factory roof mounted DVD screen. I assume it is therefore below all that under that black metal bracket?

X2 yes , it's under there, but an educated guess if original for yours would be IGG00070
Looks like it might be easier to remove the seat then to access in order to get the amp etc out of the way.
There are three different options for the Td5 depending on your VIN:

That part number doesn't work for me in Microcat, but there's some for sale on eBay which also have the correct Land Rover part number of UHC100270 on them which Microcat advises is for a Range Rover P38 so I'd be suprised if that's what I have fitted in my Td5 D2a.
Yep , they've gone through a few but not sure what the differences are, but would hazard a guess at increased base line pressures as engine outputs increased, possibly shift point tweaks and lower lock up speeds with the V8's .
Never heard of an extra clutch pack in the d2a , where did you get that info?
