Fuel tank to filter pipes TD5 pn WJP108110

I have a diesel leak, diesel on a structure to the front of the tank and a trace of diesel near the fuel pump. I'm guessing that this is a tank out job? yes/no?
MLR want a ridiculous amount of money for these pipes. What are my options? I am driving the car interstate on Friday (or not) so I am a bit short of time.

    Regards

    Julian

YNI500030K is the part number for just the green pipe. It is usually just the green pipe that gets worn through
It doesn't leak oil, Its sweating power

That's the one that goes to the FPR?

    It just keeps getting better.

It joins at the chassis near the fuel filter. It doesn't run all the way to the engine

I just disconnect all the pipes off the pump through the hole in the floor and then drop the front of the tank and change the pipe. I also remove the flex from the wiring and change to the plastic wrap that comes with the pipe. It may of already been done as it was a recall, but didn't cover all discovery 2. I try to reroute the wiring away from the pipes. It's a bit fiddly with the tank in but dropped at the front but doable.

I am thinking of some garden hose or that spiral platic stuff over the pipe to protect it.

If your going to spiral wrap them. Wrap the 4 of them and make sure it's tight. The leak is usually caused from the flexible conduit on the wiring loom for the pump rubbing on it

I've managed to unclip all hoses at the fuel pump end. The clips for the electric connector have disintergrated. Also the clip on the chassis, although I'm not quite sure hoe I got that off. I've managed to undo one tannk support bolt using a ratcheting spanner, on the drivers side, couldn't get the other one out. I'm off to total tools to buy a 15mm socket, as mine has vanished.

The wife asked "Have you booked it in yet?" I laughed, she could tell me she won the lottery!! But she hasn't. Where is the fun in taking in to...?

Update 11:15am I have removed the front tank supportinf bolts. The tank has barely moved. I have been able to remove the green pipe. Part of it has been cut away. When I blow into the pipe it seems good. I blow and flex the pipe and bingo out comes the air. Obviously my lungs are no match for the hifg pressure side of the pump.

I have had a few trys to thread the green pipe back, no success as yet. Any ideas any one?
I'm thinking an opened out wire coat hanger to pull a string through to pull the pipe through.

Is there any thing else that supports the tank? Apart from the flexible inlet pipe which is proving hard to remove.
