I think remap is a more genuine option and I would think of doing this later too while thinking of using the box in its own way.

Which leads to the question, if you already had a remap, would the box build on that, or just add the parameters on the assumption the car was standard if you get my drift?

I had the same question before I bought the tuning box. The answer was from the supplier:

The box will work independently by itself no matter what the car was standard or remap or already had another tuning box with fuel or MAF. Therefore, the box would add in extra power and reduce the fuel consumption as it should work in the car.

Of course, I haven't had any remap yet so no clue to confirm this.

Hmm, standard boost plus a lot more fuel = excessive EGT's
    Be careful

and you should realise the temp guage is designed not to move until the engine is cooked.

Hi, i've just seen this... important is that you are pleased with how the vehicle drives and as mentioned by few guys before fit an EGT gauge ASAP just to be on the safe side, i've had such kind of powerboxes myself, i know how it is... unfortunately it seems that it's a quite major percentage of placebo effect cos the following statement from a previous post: "I remember that the manual book indicated the TD5 ECU would need about 150kms – 300kms to learn new powerbox." is an absurdity IMO, that's simply not possible.

Is it the kind of powerbox which has 5 wires spliced into the injector's wiring ? ...if it's that kind plug in a tester and i'm almost sure you'll find "injector peak charge long" fault codes logged which is the proof that the ECU doesnt "learn" anything, it means that the ECU is just mixed up by the new device and in most cases the power gain comes together with higher EGT and ECT, that's a fact.

Believe me i dont want to ruin your joy i just want you to be aware of the implications and that you can't rely on what a seller is telling you when it comes to such ''miracles"

    Hi there,

Thanks a lot for your honest message.

The box is fully Plug n Play into the MAP sensor connector, it has the same design as the MAP sensor plug, simply click it in between MAP sensor and its original plug in a few seconds.

I also want to fit some monitor gauges soon, so for now, I will keep eyes on it closely.

In fact, I did 2nd reset (unplugged nagative battery cable) with the car a few days ago to test how the car response to the box vs. without the box, and this time it actually responses INSTANTLY a lot better right after I plug in the box. So for the 1st time I did reset the car before + deleted EGR, not sure why it took quite about 30kms to response.

OK, i thnk i know now what kind of a box it is, if it's plugged into the MAP sensor it most probably works on the IAT signal, so it simply tricks the ECU with a different IAT input than it really is which can increase the injected quanity thus the better throttle response that's all, it emulates a bigger intercooler while the inlet air's temperature is not cooler in reality if you see what i mean.... and i'm sure it has an impact on the EGT this way, IMO it's one of the incorrect ways to gain power

off course it reponds instantly cos the MAP/IAT sensor's signal is truncated though it's important for you to know that you do not reset anything in the Td5 ECM by disconnecting the battery

Hey Sierrafery, don’t be a far right reactionary.
Don’t you understand that this mod is “ fully sick” so normal limitations do not apply.

logic and mechanics do not apply in this case,so just get over it.

    regards Philip A
