			P0705

Hi all, Somebody might be able to put their finger on this problem,
The P0705 with flashing D shows up when selecting F or R when cold.
If the Disco hasn’t been used for a few days the trans will bump into F or R and throw the fault up, if used everyday the trans will shift in to gear smoothly with no fault.
P0705 is the xyz switch fault, mine is about 20k old but did have the AC draining over it till I acquired the truck.
This problem existed before I did a filter change and 12 lt flush with Penrite semi syn.
Battery and charge rate seem ok av. 13-6v on a run.

The auto appears in good condition and does everything it should, although when cold it doesn’t change out of first till 25 mph and around 20 mph when hot, seems acceptable to me.
I will check the harness/ecu plugs tomorrow , injector harness is only 5k old.

3 weeks ago after a long run it started for about 10 days in a row with no faults, then today the first drive in a week threw the code up, it has only thrown the code once when hot usually when cold and only once.
Since the fault coincides with bumping into gear only I can’t convince myself it’s electrical, but you never know.
Any ideas would be appreciated, it’s got me stuffed mainly because it’s not consistent.
Thanks Whitey

Well I’m not convinced it is fixed but I found a small amount of oil in the red plug, After 3 runs she has no faults, slips into F and R beautiful when cold and changes out of first about 2 ks earlier.
Who would have thought the red plug has any influence on the trans operation.
