    I guess it harks back to the Series 2a wheels where there are two CS screws holding the drum on which can be a bit handy if you wish to preliminarily adjust the brake shoes prior to fitting the wheel.

    Rotors? Who knows?

    I imagine that those little screws come in handy retaining the rotors when changing or rotating your wheels/tyres or god forbid if you shear your wheel studs and loose a wheel

    If a bit of dirt falls into the gap between the disc and hub during future wheel removal you could see some bad brake shimmy.

    Yep!
    Brother drives to my place, we do it here.
    So hot brakes, makes one of them easy to come off, two of them total PITA jobs, and luckily the 4th one was MIA .. so no need to worry about it being the third PITA, in taking it off!

    I had absolutely No problems when I changed my rotors over, I simply dropped it off at the brake place and picked it up when the job was finished

    Cheapo $20 impact driver works well, pad change on a D2 is as easy a job as you can do yourself(unlike the RRC/D1 type, in some instances).
    But you want to maintain that workflow used on the D2, over to the Navara. Don't even bother trying to do the rears.

    I won't use a brake specialist ever again, I have two up the road from me.
    On my Rodeo, I couldn't bother sometimes with some stuff, so dropped it off and walked home.
    Got back to pick it up .. easiest brake job I've ever done.

    Except! .. that a month or so later when I took it to my mechanic(100klms away) to do a big service(tappets and all) .. he noticed that one of the front lines was pretty bad.
    It had a rubbing mark, maybe 5mm or so deep into the hose. Nothing obvious rubbing tho, so it may have been like that for a while from something else(??? .. total unknown issue).
    So I thought .. why wouldn't the brake shop have at least told me about it. Surely they picked up on it when they swung the caliper out the way to change the pads.

    Consider yourself lucky that you can go to a 'place' and get work done by folks that care about their job .. not just droning away their life, not caring about anything!

    The Williams boys here in Geraldtion have been doing exhaust and brake work for the last 50 years and i have used their services Many Many times over the years and have found their work to be top notch and they don't "Gouge" on the bill either.
    I think it cost me a bit over $100 in labour to get all 4 rotors and pads fitted about 15,000k's ago and the brakes still work perfectly
    As I have a "Gammy" left arm/hand it is a bit of a tough call to do the job for me and $100 is not that much to pay for an expert job.
