I haven't heard anything bad about Nulon oils. I have used them in a range of vehicles without issues.
Rick130 would be the one to ask re the sludging etc.
Hi all has any one used Nulon 10w/40 full synthetic diesel oil in there td5 and if so how good is it at lubricating and cleaning the motor especially when I first start the car in the mornings does the oil flow easy from cold starts and are there any sludging problems with this oil thanks for any help.

Thanks donh54 was hoping rick130 will reply but would also like a wide range view.
Hey fellas,
I've never used Nulon or have any experience with their oils so can't really comment.
Viscosityy wise a 10W-40 is fine in use, it's what I use in the TD5, albeit a full on E6/E9 truck diesel oil.
What diesel specs does the Nulon have?
The 10w/40 diesel oil is truck suitable.
Curious what specs it meets?

We have used Nulon around here for various petrol and diesels but have settled largely on Castrol oils which seem to hold their viscosity longer ie not having to add oil between changes. Magnatec seems to work well in the smaller engines.
Nulon products are also usually more expensive here and not often on special as Castrol product usually are.
I use Castrol Edge for the Disco and used it for the Honda (now sold) 😢 and it seems to hold up very well.
Son swears by Penrite for his high hp machine tho...so I guess personal choice is often the main deciding factor!
For heavy machinery eg dozers n tractors I only use Valvoline Super Diesel. I also mistakenly used super diesel in the Disco td5 for 5 years until our indie blasted me for using it!!
Appeared to have done no harm tho as the engine bearings when rebuilt were all very good - I dusted the 260k engine no 1 piston when the genuine air filter inverted itself. ..something to look out for when travelling. The design is quite poor in that regard and I will need a better set up b 4 the next big trip.
The spec sheet says ACEA E9 now I will admit I have no idea what that means but says suitable for all heavy duty and light commercial diesel engines
If it's a genuine E9 oil it'll be a mid SAPS, high mileage oil.
It'll have a better ad package than what most people use.
If it says E6, E9 even better. The E6 is a little tighter in a few areas like piston deposits and corrosion protection, but there's bugger all in it.
The ACEA specs are much tighter/stringent than the US API ones.
