Does the mount at the end not rotate? Is that by design or is it just stuck from all of the years?
I have my front ACE Actuator disconnected on both ends ready to be seperated from the torsion bar but unable to pull it out as the shaft seems to be out too far. Is there a way to retract the ram into itself more?
I’ve purposely left the hydraulic lines on to avoid air or dirt going into the system. But now I’m wondering if these actually need to be removed in order to relieve the pressure so that you can push the ram back into itself...

Yep. I just realised that it's not a normal sway bar with fixed ends - obviously (now) one end has to be able to move for the hydraulic function...! I've spent the past 30 minutes trying to push in the ram when all I needed to do was open up the gap from the torsion bar! Silly me!
Hopefully both ends should rotate. One up, the other away.
