    3 Amigoes - Option B not working.

hi folks. never dull with l/r's :-)
ongoing problem with project car. 2003 td5 facelift. nanocom error is always shuttle valve . 11 times etc etc etc. 3 A's always on. clear faults etc. back they come.
replaced shuttle valves with new from mario. no joy ! did option B , again no joy.
this leads me to think wiring fault somewhere. all my soldered joints checked out ok.

    Q. earth wire in abs loom :- should there be continuity between earth wire and body of car ??

    thanks for info. gofer :-)

    A. yes it should... the earth point for the modulator's earth is in front of the airbox... though a well made option B has one wire from the SVS connected directly to body and the other to the YG wire... disconnect the two wires you added and measure the resistance across them with pedal released(3KOhm) and depressed(1KOhm)...the 2KOhm input which you can't emulate with the pedal is only for diagnostic purposes.... if it passes this test and then with one wire to earth and other to YG you still get the SVS fault code i'm affraid it's a wiring or ECU issue... i hope you didnt mix things and connected one wire from the SVS to the YG wire which goes toward the modulator?

an explanation here Necessity of the mod = SVS fix(wiring mod option b ) "graphic" explanation

How did you determine it to be in the shuttle valve switch . Did you get this code?

Could be a wheel sensor but you need the diagnosis first.

    hi guys.
regards code, i plugged in my nanocome. same error code every time. cleared code etc.

update :- 3 amigos have gone. not 100% sure how it happened, but i'll list the steps.

as stated above, i bought and fitted new shuttle valve from mario. :- no change. 3 amigos on all the time.

so i decided to do option b. BUT i was reluctant to chop up the new part so i used the old shuttle valve etc. :- no change. ( please insert swear words ) still 3 amigos.

all soldered joints were tested . all ok.

started this post, and then went "google " again. found a video on option b that cut out the 2 pin skt which connects into the abs body. no splicing into lines etc.

    ### splice into loom earth wire to sh/v to sh/v to earth on body. i decided to use the new part from mario just in case one of the old sh/v's was faulty.

it worked. no more 3 amigos. took the car for a drive around the farm . potholes, corragations etc. even did 10 min of hill decent !!

they are gone. dont know for how long .

just guessing :- possible bad shuttle valve which i didn't spot because i used option b on old valves. ( didn't know how to test them )

or even though i used option b, it was still registering the fault caused by the 2 pin connection.

    all ok for now. :-))

    thanks for your input folks.
