AS it turns out I tried the other pedal without removing the resident one. No change. I then replaced the plug into the TPS socket and gave it a real good squeeze to make sure it was in.
Now I know all of you that have had the enjoyment of doing this job know that it is not the easiest place to get at.
After seating the plug GUESS WHAT. It works again.
I fly r/c model planes and the road to the airfield is heavily corrugated. I am thinking this road at speed may have undone the connection to the TPS.
It has given me so much annoyance that I am starting to lose the love for this over-engineered piece of youknowwhat. I would just like to thank all of you that have tried to help and have offered up ideas.
Regards, Nick. (Worane).
