    Re-assemble
I hadn’t thought of that. That makes it easy

You can actually purchase tuned length tubes to replace the crush tube, I'm not certain but it might have been Ashcroft that sells them. But obviously you need to know what size you require.

By the time I go to that effort it might be easier to take a tube to the engineer and ask him to lathe one up. Thanks for the idea tho.

Still no word on how my sleeved housing is going. Hope to reassemble it later this week.

The machined surface looks a bit rough not sure how that will seal .
also should have top hated it ,the design is not practical.
any way it's done now all the best with it .

Excuse my ignorance but how does the shaft seal now?

Mine needs doing but I'd imagined that the sleeve/collar would have an o ring provision to seal it...or do you just gum it up with sealant on install?

It seals between the bushed surface and the rubber O ring that goes on the shaft .
thats the reason the finished surface of the bush should have been machined a lot better.

And the next one I do I'll be asking for a taper/chamfer as a lead on the bush.
It helps with getting that O ring in.
I had crazy trouble with the last one as I called for an almost gudgeon pin tight, push fit.
