I have a few Allisport bits, not the manifold but I do have their TD5 intercooler. It’s all been very well made IMHO. If you do end up buying the Allisport manifold it might pay to put on a high flow muffler as well. The muffler does restrict things a bit, the pipe is ok, just the muffler.

    Hi Phillip,

Do you have Mercedes & Belleville part numbers or details of where to buy?

Mine is overdue for a leak fix,

    Thanks

Also some did not allow the aircon to fit.
IMHO, you are better with a cast manifold, ground straight, the ribs between cylinders ground down, and the holes elongated most at each end. Then get it ceramic coated inside and out if possible.
Mine has been not leaking now for about 3-4 years, touch wood.
Oh and I used strong Mercedes studs and Belleville washers under the nuts.
    Regards Philip A
And don't let it get over 700C.
    Cheers

Performance exhaust manifold for TD5 Defender and Discovery - AlliSport

Definitely the thing you only do if your keeping your car for the long haul. I do like the way it doesn’t restrict the exhaust flow like the standard does.
Personally I disagree. Even if you're only keeping it for a shorter period it's still worth it - to have improved performance and much more importantly reliability.
I had a few manifolds warp early (original, original after dewebbing and refacing, a replacement after refacing with webs in place) in my D2a Td5 ownership. I then fitted the APT Fabrications ceramic coated unit which has been refaced and dewebbed, along with JE Engineering stud and spacer kit and elarged holes on the outter - longest more reliable run I've had.
If the AlliSport unit was available back then I would have gone with it instead. I'll still consider upgrading when next I have a reason to remove the exhaust manifold...

Personally I'd recommend doing it properly along with the stud kit.

I believe the flex joint in the down pipe does too as it's ID is smaller than the exhaust pipes ID. Easy enough to find a replacement with a full size ID to match the pipe.

True. The muffler dude can advise when/if you do the muffler too. I’ve heard from others that a exhaust upgrade drops the EGT by 50 or so degrees.

    Thanks everyone.
Agree with the welds issue, that was my main concern....my spydy senses were tingling a bit there.
The ceramic coating is a little above my pay grade at the Mo, unfortunately.
Me thinks I'll just do the grinder thing to remove the webbing, and a spiffy coat of paint. Td5 Exhaust Manifold..
Might throw some cash at the centre pipe, removing the main muffler instead...Td5 Exhaust Manifold..
    Thanks again everyone, much appreciated.

Only on certain vehicles. Some it is the same diameter.

Throw cash at a hotdog in the middle not a straight pipe - the drone will send most people crazy.
