The modulator may be effective up to 15PSI, and my theory is that it is there to reduce nox, so that more fuel can be delivered and that is what causes the extra 40Nm.
If you wish to exceed 15PSI then in the opinion of the experts it is not the best idea to retain the modulator and screw up the wastegate rod.
This was discussed some time ago by some members who are very conversant with the TD5 mapping and the conclusion was that probably the better approach was to bypass the modulator and fit a manual wastegate controller , as the codes of the ECU had not at that time been interpreted to allow the modulator to act above 15 PSI. The "screw the rod mod was seen as less than ideal".
I have not seen anything on this forum since that indicates that the situation has changed
Anyway , I am happy with mine.
