    Am I being screwed????

My Disco left on a flat bed....

Had annual auto service at different but reputable auto place. Six days later the Auto failed, Noise and reduced drive in 1st and 2nd. Once in 3rd and 4th you would not know there is a problem.

Sent back to auto joint. Today told Torque converter stripped spline and took out gearbox and $6400 thank you very much. Includes rear main seal replacement.

Auto was working fine including towing camper before the service.

    Even my mechanic say ****...

The auto had a full overhaul by previous owner 100,000 km ago at 230,000 km just before I bought it.

The torque converter stripped it's splines?

But it's still ok in 3rd and 4th?

Nah, they can do better than that story...

Would this be typical of the wrong ATF used given that it doesnt sound like stripped splines?
    Cheers

it certainly sounds like you have been screwed over mate.
a stripped spline in the torque converter = No drive whatsoever.
I hope you paid via credit card so you can cancel the transaction.
