    Key fob not working.

The car will lock and unlock manually with the key in the door. It will at times lock using the fib, but will not unlock with the fob. I have changed the battery and the fob still does not unlock the car. The same for the two spare keys.

Now the BCU may have got a bit damps as on a river crossing we had a few drops of water hitting my foot. Only about 2 or three. However I had a mighty fine bright dash light display. After 30 mins or so and all was dried out, the lights went away. This was on the Labour Day long weekend.

Is it the radio receiver? The BCU?

    Thanks

    Julian

    1. the alarm reacts o the fob both ways? i mean if you watch the red LED on the dash is it flashing if you unlock with the fob? ... if yes the problem is not with the fob-receiver relation but with the central locking or door latch
    2. when the fob doesnt unlock is it only about the driver's door or all of them... if the system is set to SPE then it will unlock the other doors only on second unlock command so describe exactly what's going on otherwise i'm not able to help.

.... it could be a dud microswitch in the key fob. It’s not an uncommon problem for D2 key fobs and there are tutorials on line that explain how to replace them.

Not a dud micro switch in three fobs at the same time. One is fairly new Other one barely gets used.
