There was a thread about this Oh about 5 years ago.
They are made in China but to Dayco specs.
I rang Dayco and talked to them and they reckoned they had a very low failure rate.

Has anybody had any experience of using Dayco "powerbond" replacement harmonic balancers for TD5's?
Dayco stuff is usually good and they appear cheaper to source than LR or OEM versions.

If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
A good replacement is 95SKV309 but might not be available in Australia, i fitted one about 6 years ago and it's still like new
Discovery Td5 (2000), manual, tuned
Have gone for the Dayco option (probably Chinese, but hopefully made to spec).
It was $265 and postage might be another $20 (still waiting on what that extra will be).
Dayco claim their "bonded" balancer is 4 times stronger/durable than the usual pushed together rubber and rings variety.
Time will tell.
I had a Dayco harmonic balancer fitted to the TD5 a few years back with no problems since. Although it does not do a lot of kms these days.
