I managed to get a NEW plennium fited with my last windscreen covered by insurance, Whyats in Geraldton organised it for me![]()
Hi All,
I'm having the windscreen replaced in my nearly finished project D2, and although the scuttle/plenum is cracked and the lugs broken, I'm going to re-use it.
However the rubber seal, which is the important bit, is split and perished.
I can't find any reference to the rubber seal in the forums or online.
Can they be purchased separately?
Is there a generic equivalent eg from Clark Rubber or Auto trimmers etc?
Cheers Ralph

Unfortunately they’re not available individually. Currently I am using weather proof tape but plan to replace it with a length of “U” shaped rubber moulding and fit it so the top edge of plenum cover is in the “pinch” and then run a bead of black Silastic along where it is in contact with the glass.

I have one of the fibreglass plenums in the garage waiting to get fitted. Can somebody who has actually fitted one please tell me definitively whether or not the lack of holes actually makes any real difference? I've read conflicting opinions on this and would much appreciate some real world experiences before I take the Dremel to it.
Incidentally, Rexypow in Malaysia don't seem to be doing these any more as they've disappeared from the Ebay store and the website.
Thanks
Lawrence
Without any holes the blower fan will I imagine be starving for air - the blower air inlet is in the plenum on the passenger side roughly central with the glove box so a few holes in the plenum cover thereabouts will assist, and you may at least have enough air to have the windscreen de-mister working more or less if nothing else matters. What will suffice all depends on your climate zone of course.
