Please help, M and S flashing lights, car dead

Hello folks, could my issue be XYZ switch? I've had a intermittent problem start recently where I turn key and nothing happens. It would only do it for other people (has been a running joke for a while) but recently its started happening a lot. Normally I can clear the fault, and eventually it will start. Today though fault is recurring every time I clear it. Nancom throws P1834 code. There is absolutely nothing when I turn key to start. Some cold mornings I've had a sticky starter motor in last few weeks but that seems to have fixed itself for now. It is reading correctly on dash what gear it's in. Now and then I've had those lights flash when driving and I turn car off and on and then its ok. It did this a few days ago and took me ages to start it and then haven't tried till today as I needed to get hay. It just does nothing when turn the key Please help, M and S flashing lights, car dead My transmission has been rebuilt twice in 2 years! (Turns out they'd put one old part back in initially which failed and caused the second rebuild issue after only 40000 km! which was mostly warranty covered)

It may very well be the XYZ switch. Have you tried moving the auto lever a little while starting it? Also is it showing the PRND symbols on the dash?

I have, that is normally how I have managed to get it going when this happens. It is displaying the correct symbols in the dash. Ive also tried to start it in neutral. Ive never had it where the M and S lights come straight back after clearing. I was wondering if could be the starter solenoid too but not sure how to test if one or the other.

M & S indicate low voltage, make sure the battery is fully charged.

What voltage should the battery read? I think dad has a multimeter thing somewhere I can check it with. Unless nancom does that too? We did see if head lights dim when try to start it, they didn't dim but it just does nothing when turn the key to start so might have been an inaccurate test

Try doing the following. 1) clean the spade connector on the starter motor and spray wd40 on connections. And/or 2) Get the starter motor refurbished. It worked for me. Haven't had issues since.

Highest reading when no ignition on. Going to check the connector to the starter in a sec as I do remember years ago this happened and that had come off
