    What a dumb question, Paul.
    I'm eagerly awaiting the answer.

Good question Jonesfam. I am guessing voltage at the battery.

This is with the engine running.

Similar to the voltage at the battery measured with a digital volt meter.

I noticed that when the starter motor was turning, the volts dropped to 10!

Actually nanocom can't show direct voltage from the battery but it should be very close to that as long as there are no weak connections between the battery and fuseboxes. Nanocom shows the voltage from fuse F20 interior fusebox, that's the feed for the OBD port.

I was just asking because I changed to a new battery yesterday, with the old battery I was showing, at best, 13.? volts.
With the new battery I'm getting 14.? volts.
Better battery or battery holding/receiving better charge?

    It would seem better battery!

Either way happy to have a new battery.

With engine running wouldn't it be showing alternator output minus any voltage drop to the power supply for the readout port?
