Try here ENGINE WATCHDOG TM2, Engine Temperature Sensor and Low Coolant Alarm

Get the dual one that measures engine metal temp and alarms if you loose coolant.

    TD5 or V8?

If TD5, nanocom could also work in instrument mode.
If V8, an OBD device could also work too.
My understanding of '04 D2 TD5 is that OBD reader also works too, just not prior to that year model here in Aus.

I have a "Redarc" low coolant alarm fitted to my D2a.
The sensors are fitted to the expansion tank and it emits a loud audible alarm if the coolant drops below a certain level so that even if you burst a hose you have plenty of time to shut the engine down BEFORE it gets hot enough to cause any damage
I also run an OBD2 device so that I can monitor the engine temp, voltage ETC.

Me too..saved the engine once when top hose junction failed. Even caused the missus to stop..unlike the oil light on our old Paj which she ignored until it siezed 😞

And for all the bells and whistles - get a MadMan EMS3.

Worth considering the MadMan EMS range of products if you may want additional items in the future.
