    Radiator hose with Metal section

    Anyone fitted one of these?

It is a hose with a metal piece where the bleed screw goes.

    yes.
Brother did(together) on his TD5. Much better design, and unless magilla gorilla does the bleed screw, there's zero chance of it committing suicide in on itself like the stupid original type.
Note that hoses themselves will most likely all be longer than required, and some people just fit them as is without trimming them to suit.
Then they complain that these silicon hose replacements are ill fitting, and don't like them.
Better to trim them to fit properly otherwise you may have 'rubbing issues' here or there or somewhere.

I found this out on my Tdi(I got one with the metal junction, as the rubber type junction was peeling apart slowly). I fitted all the hoses without trimming and the fit wasn't good.

So later when we did bro's D2, I made sure we measured up each hose before fitting. Saved a few hours of re removal and re refitting(like I stupidly did on my Tdi).

All these discos are giving me a heart attack!

Have a similar one. Broke the original one. No problems with this.
But be careful with rubbing. As mentioned before. Check every hose twice before clamping.
And don’t use these standard jubilee clips. There are a little wider ones which provide the pressure at full circumfence and not a point.

So what clamps did you use?

    Hi!

Here pictures of the clips i use with the silicone hoses.
They are marked with „Breeze Aero“.
Chamfered edges, a guard under the thread and pretty strong.
No problems with them since some years.
