    Cranks wont fire

Morning all hope some one has come across this issue before!

Back ground is drove the the Truck on a Thursday everything went as always good start and drive as always.

Went to drive again on Friday and got the following issue:

    Dash.jpg

Turn ignition all lights disappear as normal then water light comes on and all lights at the bottom with the M and S lights flashing the car will crank but not fire, no movement on the Tachometer.

Have done the following so far with no luck in getting it to fire yet, have changed fuel pump, Crank Position Sensor, and has brand new battery as well, mechanic that did the Crank sensor says im getting no spark and that he think the computer is dead as his ODB11 device could not communicate to the computer even thou my Isoft will get some information.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

No doubt someone has, so it's a V8? My knowledge is td5, but by the look of things i'd say the ecu is not firing up for some reason.

Can't say I can help, I have zero experience with V8 D2s(although I have one I need to fix up one day).

Had a quick look at the wiring diagrams. Have a peek at fuse 24 and fuse 14 in the cabin fuse box.

If fuses OK, check you have power at Fuse 14 whilst cranking(as a minimum). This should be for the ign coil pack.

Quick easy checks you can do yourself that cost nothing.

My problem i have had in the past sounds very similar but mine is with a td5. The thing that gets me is the water in fuel light and it cranks and doesnt fire just like how mine does. All i do to fix it is unplug the water sensor on the fuel filter and re plug it back in. Works every time. First time it happened was in a car wash and i thought i may have just got water on the plug, but every other time after it hasnt been near water when it happens. The actual cause of it i dont know, and why unplugging the sensor works i dont know, hopefully it works for you.

Pull the drivers side kick panel off and check for water/corrosion on the top of the ECM..

take pics of plugs before unlatching.. (there is only one way to put them back on)
