From the waste gate go to the steel pipe

Update....
I filled the engine with oil today ready to be started. I disconnected the red plug from the ECU so I could prime the oil pump and turbo oil line without the engine starting. All was looking good at this stage. I then connected the hose from turbo to the turbo outlet steel pipe.
I bypassed the old wastegate modulator completely but left the plug from the loom connected. I think this is OK. I also blocked the other small hose connection near the MAF on the intake pipe.
Now I was ready to start it. Put the key in and it started straight away. But here's the problem. There is white smoke coming out the exhaust. [emoji17][emoji17] This wasn't happening when I put the standard turbo back on prior. It's almost like unburnt diesel. When I push the throttle there is just more white smoke. Lots of it.
What could be happening for it to do this? Do I need to connect the wastegate modulator back up? I recorded it on my phone but can't upload it here due to the size.
Any help would be great. I really need to get it going.
Are you sure about the colour of the smoke? White would suggest coolant ingress. I'd rather expect light gray or light blue - that would mean oil ingress.
It's definitely not unburnt diesel - that would be black smoke.
Your smoke colour definitions above are for a petrol engine. Not a diesel. With a diesel, always smell the smoke. It will be clear the source by your nose.
Unburnt diesel creates white smoke. Black smoke is fully burned, excess fuel. White smoke normally comes from fuel being injected too late to burn.
Any luck?
Any up date?
Unfortunately not at the moment... been away for a few days and a trip to the hospital Thursday after I put my back out. [emoji17][emoji17] Just resting up for a few days then I'll try again.
how long did you have it running for with white smoke, how long did you crank it for with red plug unplugged? injectors can still put fuel into the combustion chamber just not enough to make engine run, maybe run it till it gets warm and burns off any fuel itting in exhaust etc
