    Because the extra oil will cause confusion when you try to find an oil leak. Oh and the legality of it. what if you get more oil coming out?

    Because dropping oil knowingly is:
    Wrong
    Dangerous - especially to motorcycles
    Environmentally poor
    Lazy

    And... breathers can inhale also - drawing contamination back into the engine.

    Good points and quite right! Both my previous 300tDi and current TD5 were modified not to oil up the intercooler and free breathe. Took me a while to figure that out and look at a catch can. I guess there’s more out there.
