Thanks Shane. I still love mine. They are getting a little noisier but I'll happily take that with the grip levels they offer.

I’ve hammered my AT3Ws and they’re doing well.
Took the Disco to the mine the other day and on a road that nothing else can get over 110 safely (hold traction) the Disco was let’s just say, enthusiastically holding on Toyo OPAT 2 vs Bridgestone D697's

Tombie, I was hoping to see a glorious image of a drifting Disco but nothing is showing

The ol girl will get a set of the AT3W's by the end of the week. Now I recall why I initially discounted the Falken's, a quick check on Bob Jane's pricing had them up there in excess of $300, yep for 245/70r16, with KO2's a fraction under $300...I'm guessing tyre size is no longer as common as it once was, hence the increased pricing.

With the 4 for 3 deal at Tyrepower and the pricing being more palatable there at $275 per tyre, I'm only paying $220 per tyre for the 5...gotta be happy with that

Yet to inform the better half, but with figures like that I'm sure it'll go unnoticed

Having a set of Kenda RT601's fitted this week, only discovered them recently, great reviews in the US. Was looking at BFG K02's. Reviews of the RT601 in the US rate the Kenda as a longer lasting and a lot more quite on road with great on-road and off-road capabilities. Not to mention the price point which is well below the BFGs. Also a nice aggressive look to them.

D2s *love* 245/75R16. You won’t notice any performance loss.

And here’s the benefit. $204 each.
Turn that into 4 for 3 and that’s $153 each!!
Add the 5th spare and it’s $163.20 each.

I was aiming to step up to that size until realising that the speedo would no longer be on the money. Being the state that Victoria is, big brother is watching everywhere...

I’d remember, but if the other half steps in any savings I make now may be quickly eroded in speeding fines down the track...sigh

245/75-16 should actually make the speedo spot on.
    A lot closer than 245/70

Initially I checked some speedo calculators online against the stock size of 235/70r16 but then crossed checked against my trusty VMS gps...speedo is smack on the money at all speeds...checked at 40, 60, 80 & 100. My driving style is not spirited, I like to take my time in the D2, so I always drive under the limit anyway...but don’t want to risk it with it being a daily driver and plenty of school zones, speed cameras on the run from home to work.

Wow! Yours would be one in a thousand to be that close on that size!

    No worries at all.
