It looks like the connectors are the same as the factory ones, and by just pulling them out and reconnecting to where the piggyback ones went it SHOULD be OK.
BUT hey if it runs leave it like it is.

you were right mate. It is in fact an old Unichip piggy back module. Unplugged and reconnected to the ECU. Will find out if it runs once I find a negative earth cable I can do a straight replacement with. Thanks again.
