    Spare key.

Finally I have spare, working keys for my car. I have a key with dud electrics and a fully functioning one.
My thoughts are to secrete the non electrical one somewhere external. Any suggestions on where, please?

Most of the magnetic boxes I have come across aren't big enough for a D2 key. Do you have SLS, Ian? If yes, behind the compressor, in a plastic bag with a cable tie? Or simply on the shelf if you don't?

Thanks John, I was thinking along the lines of a zip close sandwich bag. I'll investigate the compressor shelf. I was considering the steering guard.

No, but it will unlock the door, allowing me to retrieve a fully functioning spare from a weatherproof spot within the car, albeit with the alarm blaring.

If you already thought to the SLS compressor or steering guard then it's easyer and less messy to undo 6 screws and hook the spare to the air filter behind the LH side tail lamp.

You hide the right screwdriver for the job, under the car...

In the old days it was packing tape hidden in the roof bars, or a piece curled up hidden underneath somewhere.

I have a hidey hole, PMed to me by a revered member.
In view of the reprobates with who I usually camp, I'll not share the secret.
