Still a 30min job tops. Even with a can pre and post!
Yes, but start the 30 minute timer when you’ve got the start motor out and on the bench TD5 Starter Solenoid gone, any spare part in Sydney?

There is a lot to be said for doing this, or any other job properly and therefore slowly. I took me and a mate about 4 hours to replace the engine mounts and people are going "I could do it in 2!" But we took our time, had a couple of tea breaks. Went slow and all is good.
By the time I need to change engine mounts again, it will be all new again. Every major bit of maintenance tends to be a one off job. Wheel hubs are another example, as is the starter motor solenoid. How long do these things last?

Properly and slowly aren’t they same.
How about efficiently and safely. TD5 Starter Solenoid gone, any spare part in Sydney?

Regardless, you and your mate got the job done and probably had an enjoyable time shooting the breeze.

On the other hand, when I’m working on vehicles there is nobody else around.

A starter motor rebuild is about 10 min with the right tools, removing and replacing 10 min each end.

Any job is about having the right tools to do it efficiently. And a work method. TD5 Starter Solenoid gone, any spare part in Sydney?
