from what i have read i would say yes. I have a V8. The original plastic tank (ours was when BMW owned LR) died with a broken nipple on the bottom of tank. It lasted for 18 years. Since then have had 3 genuine replacements and they have all failed after 12 mths. Guess they went down the cheap path when BMW offloaded LR

My D1 (V8) and D2 (late Td5) suffered the same cracking fate, hence the Allisport road.
I believe all Land Rover products, fitted with the plastic tank, had the same issues.

There's a very similar tank (but with an extra fitting for a float switch) that was fitted to some E30/36's be curious if they're any better
