    Rocker cover gasket leaking!

I put a new one in a bit over a year ago, or maybe two. It is leaking again. I am sure that the gasket and the grommet seals were genuine or OEM. I thought that maybe the bolts had come loose. Nope. Now do I buy Genuine? or just britparts/ bearmach?
What can I do to stop leaks in the future? The oil seeps along the gasket and from the grommets. Would silicon help? or anything else?

    TIA

It’s likely a symptom of some other issue - did you act on the advice offered when you last mentioned your concern?

I just did mine again and this time did two things:

    1) Blue RTV along whole D section and continue around whole rear of head around corners to first bolt. Careful you don’t use too much around the D as the drain hole can block up. See pic of my test install and removal.

    2) My spacers were preventing the ( LR original) gasket seating down fully so I used a ~2mm washer under the spacer head ( on top of the gasket) and so torque down gently by hand or use an accurate torque wrench.

so far so good but it’s only been a couple of weeks.

I hear you. Mine finally stop leaking from the back of the cover after a few tries.
Note that I am just a DIY guy, what I did may not work for you but here’s what I did.
I used new grommets, new gasket (not sure oem or cheap) and a red rtv sealant - despite the recommendation. Also I remember I bought a new torque wrench $$$ and followed the rave instructions to the dots. I don’t have a leak from rocker cover anymore but it is possible that I only need one of the above.
    Good luck.

    Advice? from the previous mention?

TD5 changing Camshaft bore seals mand rocker cover seal.
    More advice this time around.
The washers sound good. If they are not sealing fully. I can try that with the current gasket.

From memory it was sometime during 2020 that you posted re rocker cover leaks - it was suggested that because you had a Provent installed that you consider deleting the now redundant factory crankcase depression valve (replace with elbow) and let the Provent manage the crankcase pressure.
