Hi everyone
Trying to find the appropriate latch/retainer/plate/doovalcky/thingymajig that locks the interior fuse panel cover up in place.
Car came like this and its starting to annoy me not being able to lock it shut.
Try as i might i can not for the life of me find what this part might be called.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Before I had a Land Rover I did not have any torque wrenches. Now I have three.
LROCV #1410
It's not just the missing turnbuckle, that's the problem .. the thin sheet bracket is broken off too.
Right up at the top corner of the opening is a thin sheet bracket spot welded to the dash frame with a square opening itself where the plastic turnbuckle is receiver locking part is located.
My brothers D2 has the one on the left missing(and it annoys both myself and him .. more him as he uses it a lot more than I get to occasionally drive it)
I doubt JB weld would hold a bracket strongly enough if you made a bracket to fit the plastic doodah part, and not a lot of room to get in there and screw one in. Maybe if the drivers seat were removed you could mangle yourself down and in there and do something about it.
At least on the drivers side you have much easier access/room to do something about it, on the left hand side less so.(ie. I'd rather be fixing yours, than the brothers!!)
Your location is unspecified, but if you have access to a self serve wrecker where you could locate the plastic turnbuckle piece(Bohica's part number) .. the D1 uses the same part too.
So at a wrecker look for either a D1 or D2 for the plastic part.
grab yourself a small sheet of some tin of some type(say 1 or 1.5mm thick) cut and bend(thinner is easier to work with of course) .. and just screw it into the corner of the fuse panel opening, even if you had too do it directly through the foam dash material. it'll only look 'ugly' with the fuse panel open, once shut won't be seen.
BUT! .. seeing as it's a D2, and they seem to love electrical gremlins .. I'd say the fuse panel may be open for longer than it will be closed! .. so the ugly look may end up as an issue.![]()
