No, I don't think so. The spare nuts are longer and will possibly bottom out before securing the wheel. The road wheel nuts, being shorter, will pull the studs out of the carrier.
Is there any functional difference between these wheel nuts?
Can the spare wheel ones be used on road wheels?

If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
Ian is correct. This is one of the most infuriating "quirks" of the D2.
I sometimes wonder if LR aren't one of the greatest practical jokers of all time.

You can use a normal wheel nut on the spare if you add another washer. I had an old RRC wheel nut which I removed the washer from and used it on a normal wheel nut. or maybe the washer from a security wheel nut which you probably have stored somewhere.
