    Handbrake Retainer Spring

Been tackling the snapped handbrake cable I have been putting off for a couple months and have spent half of today trying to get these PITA retainer springs back onto the new shoes.

Managed to get the left one on as I could access from the rear and hold the pin in place although the right has limited access because of the transfer box.

Any tips before I give up and never park on a hill again?

    Cheers,
    Rohaan

Adapt a Series parking brake, a simple conversion.

Will see if i have something.

Ive also posted on a fb LR page and the suggestion was to take the four bolts off that mount the drum so this will be tomorrows attempt.

And if no luck there i like the idea of a series conversion !

    Happy days.

Anyone doing in future, much easier if you remove entire assembly with the 4 x bolts.

Ended up pre-compressing the spring with cable ties and clamping the shoes hard against the drum
