Thread: Anyone fitted a 4WD Supacentre steel roof rack?

Have one on mine I used the 9” gutter mounts to keep it low. It is heavy being steel so just be careful when loading it that you don’t over load the roof which I think is rated at 100kgs. Someone here might confirm that. I’ll throw so pics up later if I get chance.

I should also mention that i do have the factory roof rails, do you have them also with the 9" legs? Im not to fussed if i have to buy different legs and bin the supacentre stuff.

And yeah its really only going to be a platform for lighting, 4 maxtrax and maybe solar later down the line. I can't justify the price of a front runner or rhino to do what i want.

I recently bought a half rack from supercenter, you have the option of 3 different length legs, ones included are too short for D1 & D2
They only had the longest in stock, too high, but easy as to cut down to good height. Now it fits in my garage.

I was previously given a basket type and just needed some Rola type bars to mount it, but these cost more than the complete rack from supercenter. Very solid steel, yes, heavy duty and includes mounting holes for lights at front etc.

Very happy with mine.

Roof max load is 50kg per the manual, not gonna shame anyone for ignoring that but you do notice it when there's a rtt etc up there.

Yeah rtt's have never been my cup of tea.

Literally just want something to mount a few LED lights, the maxtrax and sometime in the future a solar panel. Cant justify $1000+ for big name brands.

All that alone will probably be nudging the 50kg limit anyways

I bought an OCAM aluminium roof rack, much lighter. I go up there to load up and tie down, I'm 100 kgs or maybe 15 more!!

With their 10% off sale and voucher, i think im just going to take a gamble for $210.84 delivered to my door.

From the manual>Always observe the following precautions: • The MAXIMUM load for approved roof rack systems is 110 lb (50 kg) for normal road use and 66 lb (30 kg) off-road.

I read that as referring to any roof rack (there was some factory options for non roof bar racks as well). Again I've probably got close to a 100kg up there to. I assume it's less about what the roof can hold and more about the car tipping. (Probably why most people never have issues is cos the roof is only loaded up when the rest of the car is)
