I found replacement of the lights to new from UK made a big difference, I did this before looking into bulb replacement.

    Modern Halogen Globes

No one's mentioned halogens. I put a pair of "Calibre" brand halogens (just replacing the original issue halogens) in a little road car recently & learned how much more directed light was produced from the identical current rating. The claim was for up to 130% more from their top offering. I paid $70- or so for something in the middle of their range, but worth it for tired old eyes.

    Isn't that a Supercheap brand?

Yes, probably. I bought them @ SCA (& benefited from a short educative session about recent headlight developments from an enthusiastic young man on staff). Narva also had a more expensive similar offering beside it.

Calibre and a couple of others are the worst for alignment. Never seen such poor misalignment in bulbs prior to this.

Unless they've seriously upgraded their tolerances in the last year.

Are IPF Fatboys still available ? Had them on my old 854 Runner. Light output was amazing .

    Hi
I have run 130/90 bulbs in both my (old) D1 and current 2000 non facelift D2. I make up a heavier wiring loom with fused relays for high and low beam mounted by the jack and also use a 3 pin ceramic plug for the bulbs. Make a huge difference. Yes you will go through bulbs quicker, but takes all of 2mins to replace and the cost is not bad.
No issues with warrants of fitness and keeps a std exterior look.
