That definitely ain't right.
So i'm checking some stuff under the bonnet a few hours after having last driven and I can hear the ABS module making some very quite noises.
Unplugging the valve pack multipin connector - the noise stops.
Car is unlocked with key out of ignition.
I'm assuming this is not normal, anyone else had this or know what's causing it?
Could explain the flat battery after a two week no drive period.
Cheers

Well there you go - learn something new every day. I've become quite familiar with the ABS system on my old D2 after fixing a whole bunch of PO related brake system errors and I can think of absolutely no rhyme or reason why the ABS modulator should be clicking away long after the engine has been shut down. Mine certainly doesn't do it, but I do have the base model with no bells and whistles. Is it something related to other SLABS functions?

Thanks, that explains it
Also, is there anything left unknown, however minor, left to discover about these old girls.
Is there a better understood, more thoroughly reverse engineered POS out there than the D2???
You guys are awesome.
Cheers
Well I purchased my old girl specifically based on the reputation for reliability. That is to say, I like fixing broken stuff and I reckoned I was up to the challenge. Having said that, and while it's blatantly obvious the various D2 design teams weren't on speaking terms, I've been a little disappointed as aside from PO related issues and plastics that break simply by looking at them, it's been going pretty reliably.... <touch wood>.
Of course, these things are always on the back of your mind like this morning; backing out the drive way and I heard a massive "BANG!" and saw bits of something flying through the air, my first thought was that I'd clipped the BBQ with the rear bumper and it had naturally exploded US movie car style. Turns out I'd run over a cheap inflatable ball one of the kids had left in the driveway.
