Hi there everybody, I have a problem with my 2003 Discovery 2A TD5 automatic. A couple of weeks ago the battery went flat and I attempted a jump-start. It didn't work so I bought a new battery and am attempting to start the vehicle. All that happens now when I turn the key is a bonding sound in the start position, and the MS lights flash comma and the d flashes with a cross through it on the transmission indicator section of the LED display. The central locking and the radio and all interior accessories have stopped working. There oh no blown fuses in the fuse box and as far as I can see all wiring in the engine bay is in tact. I tried the Ekka code but no go there there was no signal on initiation. Can anyone suggest the next course of action? Thanks,

Just go back to basics.
Did you accidentally connect the wrong polarity at any stage when trying to jump start or connect batteries?
If the answer is yes, you might be in strife.
If the answer is no, you quite probably just have a bad electrical connection somewhere. This could be an earth or a +ve cable. It could maybe even be a dud ignition switch or its wiring. It's also possible that you're just having really bad luck and your new battery is a dud.
The easiest way to establish what's going on is to get a voltmeter and see what the voltages are at various points, starting from the battery. Maybe even just initially test by turning the headlights and wipers on to see what happens.
