Had the hoses made up and fittings welded onto the old oil & trans coolersAttachment 176937Attachment 176938Attachment 176939Attachment 176940Attachment 176941Attachment 176942 by a local shop in Alice in 2013 after the front had an altercation with an emu. Apart from the hoses I did all the work myself. Because of the 40++ days traveling with the aircon on I hooked up the oil cooler and old trans cooler in series to help with engine oil cooling. The after market trans cooler had been added previously.
Have travelled between Alice & Beltana (Flinders Ranges) down the Oodnadatta track many, many times, up the Strzelecki to Innaminka couple of times and no failures.
cheers Pen
There are some good suggestions coming so thanks to everyone who's responded. One thing to bear in mind tho is that here in NZ we don't get anything like the same heat as you guys in OZ so I'm thinking anything more than a P38 cooler would be overkill in my situation.
True , why I mentioned my thermostat..

The gearbox cooler lines are a certain diameter, it is good engineering to have the cooler the same size tubing--- [wink11]
