    td5 maf

Hi all I recently posted about maf cleaning and it was suggested that if the car had the egr removed the the maf was of on real use my car has a stage 2 tune and as far as I can see the egr part of the ecu is turned of. So my question is if Iunplug the maf will it make any real difference to the way the motor runs as my maf is in good working order it would be nice to see the end of the hesitation on leaving red lights and intersections my car is a manual 10p motor.
    Thanks all Phil.

On a 10p I wouldn't worry about it at all, others will suggest that they run better /perform better with it. I have not found this to be the case, and have not personally seen ANY evidence to back it up.

I do however like the extra data gathered from the MAF when tuning and to compare back to the MAP for air charge figures for the sake of error checking.

On the EU3 they will also run fine without it, however it IS used for fuelling, and when deleted the ECU goes back to MAP/IAT based fuelling which is fine, but on an EU3 the mapping for mass air is a lot more intricate and should provide better economy and performance.
