Fuel lines above tank rub through as well,but probably not your issue or you would see fuel leaking.
Injector seals are the usual culprit,as others have said.

When dat green line rubs through you really know it alright.

But the car will still start and go OK as it is under positive pressure.

+1 on injector seals. And if you are doing it yourself it is much less costly to try (even with genuine parts) than a new pump.
Interestingly this problem has not reoccured in the past fortnight. The day following this post the Fuel Filler Neck Breather Tube (part number ESR4290 and shown as item 26 in the attached diagram) started leaking from noticeable cracks in it. Replacement has been ordered.
