Has anyone logged the data stream coming into and out of these boxes with a PC and CAN adapter?

I'm very sure it can't be that easy to reverse engineer what's going on, but hey after 20 years some smart bloke (or Sheila) must have some info.

Land rover should open source this stuff to make amends for killing the brand. It'd be the right thing to do.

It'll never get open sourced... Very unlikely anyway.

In fact, from what I've read, most of the info for the TD5 is possibly gone forever.

Land Rover don't have it apparently.

As far as the rest go, V8 etc etc,due to OBD2 requirements, a lot is already available for anyone to use.

Where the trouble lay is vehicle specific settings outside of the OBD2 specs, and manufacturers hang on to them pretty tight.
Probably fair enough as well, intellectual property etc etc.

    Cheers
    James

@shayne86 happy to sell if you are interested, make me an offer. Tried to PM you but your inbox is full apparently.

Works fine when I hook it up to the computer but will need to be changed to your vehicle's VIN.

I'm in Perth but happy to post.

Yeah every time anyone quotes me it sends a notification to my inbox as unread mail. Kind of annoying. All cleared now
