Replace the TPS to rule it out and if the symptom comes back it's a wiring issue on that circuit

Since my original post I had not driven it much as I didn't trust it, until I sourced a second hand pedal with TPS.

I have not fitted it but carried it with me as a spare in case.

I have now driven it a bit including a 200 k round trip towing Tvan.

It has not missed a beat. The flat spot/miss I described in my OP has not happened and the idle only problem has not happened either. Go figure.

Another question I have. Having purchased a second hand TPS, I did not see the car it came from, but the wrecker assured me it is 3 track.

Is there any way I can tell?
    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

Can you see any part number or code on it?

Is it worth bridging tracks two an three together and using nanocom to turn it into a two track TPS?

Just for reliability sake. Never understood why they went three track.

That would not be a good ideea cos the Eu3 ECU needs 3 track setting, if you set 2 track on a Eu3 engine it will just idle

It is very intermittent and only happens occasionally.
It's a long shot but may only be some water passing through the system.

I had a similar drop out issue when I got back from a trip to the South of NSW to pick up my van.
For months afterward I would have the same . Every now and then the engine would revert to no power while accelerating.
After a few tanks it all went away.
I was even using Dr diesel or whatever it is called.
The fact that it is now OK seems to support this theory. I would expect it to happen again .
Add some water dispersant to the fuel and run it a while .
    Regards PhilipA
BTW, I think the culprit was a very high volume station in Albury. No immediate effect but only over the next couple of months.
