Yes but it has to be opened and the chip unsoldered and replaced with a socket soldered in its place.
But each time you want to change the programming ( 'tune' ) the chip has to be removed from the socket (so taking ecu out and lid off each time) and replaced with another one with new tune, or if it is a re flashable chip it can be updated in a programming unit with the new tune.
I have 2 MSB units with sockets and a programmer and re flashable chips and fart around with tunes to my hearts content ( hobbyist not tuning guy). I've got it down pat and disconnect battery, lift ecu out over tray without unplugging it, lid off, pull chip out and replace with next 'no idea what I am doing' tune and back together again and cross fingers it starts and drives !
You can buy a used MSB from an auto and it will be ok in the manual too.
On ebay you will find tunes already programmed into chips and you buy the chip with the socket that needs to be soldered in.
