You'll find it is dripping from the filter, check the filter itself, easy and fast to replace but also the water sensor at the bottom could be leaking, also simple to replace, both spin off

Hi guys, I noticed a fuel leak after I parked my disco yesterday. Seems like one drip every few seconds from that unit behind/above the driver's side rear wheel. Is it a fuel pressure reg or something similar?
Easy fix for someone with reasonable mechanical skills to replace/repair the unit? Cheers!

Water sensor on the bottom of the filter had a tendency to snap off, dont ask me how i know.
From memory a bolt with a bit of rubber used as a washer could be screwed in temporary,or just replace the complete fuel filter.

But watch for(and could be likely what's happening with yours) ... when you take the screw cap off the new filter, it should have a seal with it. Make sure it's not on the filter!
Then if you remove the water sensor cap on the filter on your car currently, again be sure the rubber washer seal also comes off too ... or at least you know where it is!
What can happen is the previous servicing person doesn't make sure the seal is either on or off, and just puts water sensor on the filter and the filter back on, and one seal can be on each side of the assembly.
It only needs one seal .. so if you do fit a new filter .. you got to make 100% sure you have the seal out of the filter and out of the water sensor fitting .. so that only 1 seal is present between the filter and water sensor attachment when you fit it all together again.

Also check for a split in the breather pipe - we just had the same problem after filling the tank, diesel was dripping onto the mud flap. There was a split where the pipe from the tank joins the 90 degree bend.

Assuming that we a talking about a Td5 Disco ...............
Not likely, due to the drip being close to the rear wheel, but another possibility is that one of the lines from the fuel tank has developed a hole where it crosses a ridge near the top front of the tank.
