Nanocom has paid for itself, already.

I am a huge fan of cruise control.
I used to drive for a living and suffered from adaptive shortening of my ham string tendon, after holding accelerator pedal in one place for hours on end. Hiace van without cruise. When I got upgraded to a Hyundai, it was heaven to be able to relax my leg, whilst using cruise control.
Since picking up the Disco, I have been trying to nut out why cruise doesn't work. Dash switch lights ok. I had metered out the steering wheel switches and they tested ok. Everything seemed to be as it should.
Along comes my new Nanocom and straight away it highlighted the fact that the steering wheel switches were active or in an "on" state. A little bit of investigation of the cabling and I found the culprit. Corrosion in a connector. Cleaned up the contacts and steering wheel switch state changed to "off" until pulled.
Cruise control now works a treat and I am stoked.
I'm not right up to speed on mechanics rates, as I haven't paid to have a car fixed by a mechanic, ever, but I estimate that the cost of labour and parts to sort this issue would have been high.
Sometimes that investment in a tool seems high, but can often prove to be worth it.

As soon as I purchased my D2 about 11 years ago a Nanocom was my first purchase.

    Worth their weight in gold.
    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."
