The standard ones have many versions. I think you need springs like the pink/browns are here Land Rover Workshop Manuals > Discovery II > FRONT SUSPENSION > DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION > Page 885
I want a 2 inch lift, the car has a winch bar and a winch, approx 70kg. I have been told to start with a 200lb/inch 400mm coil. I know that this means that the spring will compress and inch for every 200lb on it. How heavy is the front end on a disco with a winch bar and winch? The original coils, standard height are about 380mm. I am not so much on a product recommendation, more an idea of what 'numbers' to look for. I am guessing that tapered coils are not suitable as those are meant for the rear. Looking at the internet does not seem to help me.

Before I had a Land Rover I did not have any torque wrenches. Now I have three.

Discovery Td5 (2000), manual, tuned
This is what I got, when I re-did springs and shocks. I reckon close to spot on for the bar and winch addons up front.
You could get away with 170lb fronts, I think, if you wanted a bit more comfort again.
The rear is OK. I got the 275lb/in 430mm spring, which I think just a touch too hard, but does get better when loaded a bit.
If I had to do it again tho. I would go with 170 front and 235 rears. I'm a bit of a "bargearse" and I like my soft, cushy riding off road vehicles.
Arthur.
All these discos are giving me a heart attack!
